Almost good to go

The new Eisenhowers album -'Film your own atrocities'- will shortly be available to buy from this website. Anyone who purchases the CD through the Eisenhowers site or through this one will receive a free bonus mini-album called ‘Peep-show etiquette’ featuring various acoustic versions, home demos and some previously unavailable recordings. Watch this space for details, although we can't take responsibility for anything that may, or may not, happen as a result of that activity.

In the meantime, here is a link to Mark Hunter’s Tartan Podcast in which Raymond reveals some of the showbiz secrets behind the making of the new album.

Sincere thanks to everyone who has bought this album over the last couple of years. A new batch has been ordered and will be available from this site within the next few weeks. New customers in the meantime, should use that cd baby link.

slow and steady wins the race

Stand by for action. According to some well-placed insiders, the second Eisenhowers album ‘Film your own atrocities’ is now very close to completion and should be available for purchase in August.
If you follow the links to their myspace page, you will be able to hear some rough mixes, acoustic versions of album tracks and maybe even one or two little surprises.

In the meantime, here is a photo of Raymond from the band, probably trying to hit a high note. Or something.

Product Placement

As part of the meticulously-planned worldwide campaign to whip up a veritable frenzy of media interest in their forthcoming album 'Film your own Atrocities', The Eisenhowers are featured in the latest edition of the DigiVegas Indie Podcast.

If you click on the link below, you will hear not only an 'amusing' interview about life on the lunatic fringe of the Scottish music industry, but also a number of tracks from the new album.
The podcast also features a couple of classic cuts from the first Eisenhowers album, which continues to sell like very cold cakes that have maybe gone a bit off.

Open the vaults

For those of you interested in rare or unreleased tracks, an archive
Eisenhowers account has now been set up at:

www.soundclick.com/theeisenhowers

Most of the songs posted on this page will be home demos (of which
there are many), previously unreleased tracks and works-in-progress.
The basic arrangements, in some cases, retain a certain energy that
doesn't always survive the 'proper' recording process and these original
versions are sometimes dearer to the writer than the more polished, professional versions. To complete the picture, each mp3 is accompanied by a little explanation of what might have been the intention at the time of writing; maybe that will help some listeners find something to enjoy in these tracks.

The first batch of free downloads to be posted includes the original versions of two tracks (Useless Love and If I had to make a list) from the first Eisenhowers album and another song (Is everybody happy now?) which was covered by Gum on their 2003 'Low-flying Kites' album.
The other songs cover the usual topics - mass suicide, imagined aircrashes, jaded cynicism, self-deluding losers and so on and so forth.

As usual, the names have been changed to protect the guilty.

'Old' is the new 'new'

In the absence -for the moment- of any new Gum activity, customers may be interested to note that the myspace page currently features a free download of a previously unavailable track, the electronic and creepy ‘You can’t tell a heart how to behave’.

And, jumping belatedly aboard the YouTube bandwagon, the band has posted the 2004 video for their might-have-been-a-hit-if-only-more-folk-had-bought-it single ‘Asleep at the Wheel’ at:

In the meantime, work continues on the second Eisenhowers album. Those 'in the know' report that things are going swimmingly.

Feeling the Love

The hard-working team at Serali just love it when folk say nice things about our CDs. Getting that positive feedback (along with finding money down the back of the couch) makes it all seem worthwhile.
The best review yet of the Eisenhowers album has been published at:

http://www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk/MagSitePages/Review.aspx?id=4872

We salute Mr. Carter for his very kind comments and we thank all the customers who have bought this album. In fact, following a number of excellent reviews (and continued podcast play around the world) stocks of ‘Almost half-undressed’ are now running dangerously low at Serali Towers. So, if you have any difficulties purchasing from this site, we should let you know that the album is also available to buy at:

www.cdbaby.com/eisenhowers

and

Digital downloads are also available from Napster, iTunes, Sony Connect, MusicNet, GreatIndieMusic and a number of other sites.

Work is now well underway on the second Eisenhowers album. It has a working title of ’15 reasons for you to hold your tongue’ and features a batch of truly stonking tunes.
In the meantime, to whet your appetites, the band will shortly be making some free MP3s available, featuring acoustic versions, works-in-progress and a couple of other surprises. These should be ready within the next couple weeks, so keep watching the electronic interweb for details.

It's almost 'Almost half-undressed' time!

Greeting pop pickers. Watch this space for a imminent announcement on the release date for The Eisenhowers album ‘Almost half-undressed’. This CD is packed with 12 poptastic tunes and, according to a music expert we consulted yesterday, it’s "really quite good". In the meantime, you can sample some of the tunes at:
www.myspace.com/eisenhowers

Listen before you buy

The hard-working team at Serali Towers is keen to ensure that we provide the best possible service to our potential customers. Accordingly, we would like to make you aware that you can find samples from Gum’s ‘Seven Feeble Alibis’ album at:

www.myspace.com/choosegum

Go ahead. Pour yourself a nice long drink and have a listen. Wallow in those mellifluous sounds. Have another drink. Think of all the folk you’d know who would be delighted to be given a copy of ‘Seven Feeble Alibis’. Why not treat them? Think how popular you’ll be after you have introduced your friends and relatives to the fabulous Gum sound. Go on … you don’t really need that new washing machine, do you? Isn’t music supposed to be the food of love, or something?

T-minus a very small number

Now that this whole malarkey of setting up a website, designing sleeves, writing a business plan, applying for licences and all the rest of it is just about over, you -dear consumer- will soon be able to purchase some rather splendid products from Serali. Over the next few months, we hope to introduce Gum and The Eisenhowers to the music-buying world and maybe some other places too. Stay, if you will, 'tuned'.
